Xanthe - WE DID IT !!!!

Four days ago at 3:30am we got up dressed and caught a taxi to the square. The taxi driver dropped us off and we were left standing all alone in the dark-but not for long. Soon after everyone had arrived (all 11 inca hikers and 16 ninja porters, 2 guides ,Casiano and Roger, plus the most important person, THE COOK!). Between then and now we have walked 27 miles, clambered up a steep mountain (see map soon to put on if not there already) to 4200 m and seen 7 Inca sites and stayed at three camp sites in the mountains. After the trip every one hated steps (especialy stone ones). On the 4th morning we got up at 3:30 am again! and after waiting in a long queue trekked 6km to Machu Picchu. It was so incredible to be there at last after 4days of pain and sweat. Machu Picchu, lost city of the Incas hidden in the undergrowth for 500 years rediscovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham,was absolutely amazing to see for real.
